VicSRC exists to empower students across Victoria: it is led by students, for students. Our Student Executive Advisory Committee provides governance and strategic advice to the organisation, and VicSRC student Ambassadors work together with staff and stakeholders to make change at every level, pushing towards a student-focused education system that treats young people as the experts in their own education.
VicSRC is auspiced by the Youth Affairs Council Victoria, and funded through the Department of Education and Training Victoria (DET).
VicSRC supports student voice at every level. From programs and resources to help us make our voices heard at a classroom and school level all the way up to regular meetings with the Minister for Education. VicSRC often uses the Hub to let students across Victoria know what’s going on or ask questions and get feedback to take to the Department of Education and Training.
Other ways to get involved in VicSRC’s work
If you want to be a part of VicSRC and the work it does you can join the Student Community to receive a fortnightly newsletter full of opportunities and updates. You can also attend events like Congress, look into school-based programs like Teach the Teacher or ALTER or – once a year – join our Ambassadors team or run for a spot on our Student Executive Advisory Committee!
