While we all wish the holidays hadn’t come to an end, we are sadly now back at school… So to get back into the school routine, here are a few tips to help you be more organised and productive this year!

Make a daily to do list

Before starting any work for the day, make a quick to do list with the most important and urgent tasks first, followed by those tasks that are not due for a while. Prioritising is important and will ensure you stay on top of things in the long run.

It can also give you a great sense of accomplishment when you get something done and can cross it off your list 😊

Clear up your desk every night

When retiring for the day, try to make sure you clear up your desk, and put away anything you won’t need for the next day. This is so when you come to do your homework the next day, you won’t need to spend time cleaning your desk – you’ll start fresh and be focused on your tasks.

Keep a special drawer or storage box for all school-related things

Storing all your school-related items in one place helps you avoid losing any books, papers or assignments at the wrong time. If you want to be even more organised, you can go as far as having separate folders for each subject, and colour-coding them.

Make use of your phone calendar

This is one of my most important tips: always use your phone calendar for any reminders, no matter how trivial. This could be a daily reminder to pack your laptop, lunch or keys in your school bag, a due date for a homework assignment, a test or the date of a meeting with a teacher.

You can also set up multiple reminders, such as a weekly reminder, or a reminder the day before something is due. This can be really helpful for keeping track of your schedule.

Put your phone on airplane mode while you study

It can be super distracting getting notifications while you are trying to focus on your study. An easy fix for this is turning on airplane mode on your phone. This will stop any notifications popping up on your phone and will also keep your phone charged for longer!

I hope these tips help you to be more organised and productive this school year. Feel free to share your tips and advice with us in the comments 😊
