As you have probably (hopefully) already heard, Victoria is bringing school holidays forward almost a week to start tomorrow Tuesday the 24th of March. This is part of a reduction in non-essential activity statewide to help contain the spread of COVID-19. Most of us haven’t experienced anything like this before. It’s okay to be apprehensive about what this means and what the future holds. But these proactive measures are good. Now is the time to get creative about how you get your voices heard and how you strive to make change. Look around at the issues you care about (perhaps starting with your Congress priorities from 2019, just a suggestion!) and think about what you can do from home. The internet is a powerful tool, especially now, and you’ve just been given extra time – why not use it to make change?
We’re still at work (from our homes) here at VicSRC and we want to remind you that your voices matter. We’re working with our Editorial Team to bring you stories about what these extra-long school holidays mean for you and other students like you – if you’d like to share your story you can get in touch at [email protected]. We’re also working to bring you some fun stories with suggestions for how to stay occupied without school and in-person friends to keep you busy!
Keep your eyes on the Hub and our social media for those, keep washing your hands and keep being kind.
