This information applies to Victorian students in government schools and is correct as of Thursday, 16th of April, sourced from the Department of Education (DET)’s communications with schools.
- You and your family should have clear information about how and when you will be given learning materials and feedback
- You and your teacher/s should together create a schedule or calendar of expectations that covers:
- what tasks you need to do
- how long each task should take
- when you should aim to have each task completed.
- Generally, you should not receive more than a week’s learning activities at a time, so you are not overwhelmed!
- If you can’t work online for some reason, your parents/carers should be able to collect hard-copy work from your school. You can also ask your school to post some learning material out to your home.
Every school is doing remote learning differently! What your friend is doing might look very different to the work you’re doing, but that’s okay. Schools are using different timetables, learning platforms and communication tools to find things that work for learners and educators.
